Celebrate the Season with two nights of family fun and holiday activity on Friday, December 7 & Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 5 – 8pm. Free Admission after 5pm.

The Clark County Museum welcomes this holiday season with two evenings of grand illuminations, strolling carolers, and holiday music on Heritage Street. The houses of Heritage Street are dressed for the holidays with twinkling lights on the eaves, candles in the windows, wreaths on the doors, and pines and flowers throughout. Each home is replete with a holiday dinner on the table and period decorations. The museum’s model train displays, always a holiday season family favorite, will be set up in the Boulder City Depot and wind through a setting of Southwest sandstone and red-rock hoodoos, and around the sweeping curves of the imaginary mining community of ‘Ore Creek’. Lights brighten the night and the sounds of the season add to the warm and jolly spirits. Travel back to the decades of the 1900s through the 60s and enjoy this very special holiday transformation.

Santa, with his faithful elves, presides over the holiday festivities and welcomes children to the Enchanted Gazebo, where each child will receive a holiday treat after their visit.

The Homes of Heritage Street will be glowing and twinkling with historically accurate lights and ornaments. Each home represents a different decade of life in Las Vegas and will exhibit decorations that would have been displayed when the house was new.

Eight strolling carolers dressed in holiday style will perform the traditional songs of the season along Heritage Street, from 5pm.

Children have an opportunity to create their own make-and-take holiday ornament in the Children’s Holiday Craft Tent.

Hot cocoa and hot apple cider will be available for all visitors, compliments of the Clark County Department of Parks and Recreation and Clark County Museum Guild.

Union Pacific Steam Engine #4442, surrounded with icicle lights and wreathed in ivy and evergreen, will welcome all visitors.

Bring the family and your digital camera. Don’t miss this family photo opportunity.
